Types of music videos:
Concept music video: A concept music video doesn't contain a story line or contain a performance. It is best described as an artistic expression, where there will be an idea or theme which is being represented. The artist can create a music video which represents the feeling the song makes them feel without a story needed to support it. Performance music video: A performance music video can take place in any location, which matches the song. The main purpose of the video is the person who is performing the song, which is where everyone's focus goes to. If the general theme fits the song, the video can be as dramatic or simple as you wish. The video could either contain a single person or a large group of people or you could use a single person with lots of people performing a choreographed dance to fit in with the video idea. An example of a performance music video: Beyonce- single ladies. Narrative music video: A narrative music video follows a story line, for example two people falling in love at the end of the music video. The story line is most likely influenced by the lyrics. A narrative music video could also have no singing but follow a story line. An example of a narrative music video: Sam smith- I'm not the only one |
