An editing technique I like which they have used in the music video is an overlay effect or two clips as it transitions into another scene, I have used an overlay effect in one of my previous productions and I think it look very appealing to the audience, as well as it being a nice transition into another scene. I will be using this effect in my music video to get this effect and hopefully get the same response as I did last time that it 'fitted well with my music video'. This will help me in my project I can use an overlay effect to transition between clips as well as it looking appealing to the audience.

Another editing technique which they have used in this music video is colour grading, this changes using RGB curves or by changing the saturation of the clip to change the colours of the clip whether that's making the enhancing the colours to make them stand out more or adding more colours to create the effect off it being an upsetting time, this effect is used to change the emotion of the clip by changing the colours it creates an effect on the audience, this also helps if the facial expressions of the characters isn't clear they are able to still see how the character is feeling just by the colour of the clip. This will help me in my project as I can use it to show the audience how the character is feeling by changing the colours of the clip, which will allow the audience to understand the emotion of the characters.

A editing technique they have used in this music video is using a parallel edit which shows both sides to the story in one shot, by using this technique the audience is able to see what they are both doing at the same point in time, which shows us that they still go on with their everyday lives even though they still think about each other every moment of the day.

They have also used the camera angle fo having the messages being shown on camera so that the audience are able to see what they're sending then deleting to each other, this shows the audience that they repeatedly want to text each other but are worried about what they other one will say and end up deleting the message and not sending it. I will be using a similar camera angle but will be having the messages pop up beside the phon. This will help me in my production so that the audience are able to read properly what is being sent between the characters.
